Blog #6 coronavirus
My family and my friends are what gives me hope in a time of corona. I have always been a very positive person, so I try to keep myself with positive thoughts during this pandemic situation. I hope that one day this will be over and we all are going to go back to our healthy lives. I will be able to go back to do my common hobbies like going for a coffee with my friends, go to the movies, go to shopping, do sleepovers, go to parties and many more activities. I hope that one day we will get together with our loved ones.
I meditate two to three times per week to navigate the crisis and distract myself. I also do exercise every day for at least 30 minutes, I practice yoga once per week, I cook and bake recipes that I have never made before, I watch Netflix with my family at night, I do video chat with my friends on weekends, and I clean my house.
I typically tend to blame the fact that I do not have time to do different activities, so I set some goals for myself to motivate me every day. I downloaded Duolingo, which is an app that teaches you different languages; I took one course of Italian back in college, so my goal this quarantine is to improve my Italian.
This global crisis has driven us crazy. Quarantine is tough to endure; however, it is something we have to follow in order to get rid of this situation soon. Coronavirus has affected everyone in different ways, economically, mentally, and/or physically. Because of quarantine, there are a lot of people dying outside, people that need to pay the bills, the rent, make groceries, and they are not able to go to work; therefore, they do not have money to afford all their needs. There also exist people that do not have food to eat that does not have a home, people who are living in worse conditions in comparison to us.
I like to see the positive things to almost everything, so I try to see quarantine as a detox of your life. During this corona time, you have the moment to make changes in your persona. Like, reorganize ideas, plans for the future, or taking advantage of the quarantine to make things in your house like a home remodeling, something that you could not do before because you did not have that much time at home.
Quarantine made me be more grateful for every single thing I have in life, first of all, to be blessed for having health, for having my family living in the same house so I can see my parents every day I wake up, for having something to eat every day, and for having my friends that make me laugh so hard in this tough days.
When I go to sleep at night, I pray for the ones that have lost their jobs, for those who have nothing to eat, and for the life of those who have been diagnosed with COVID-19.
